Style - Visual characteristics that this artist can capture include organization and story telling. Many of her photos are very detailed and you can make a story about them. This photographer can easily pile multiple objects and people into a photo without it being too much. Her pictures are quite busy yet organized. I look at her work and feel a sense of completion.
Philosophy - Holly Andres bases her work off of personal experiences. She is inspired by kids movies and music. The exciting things she watched as a kid alongside her two older sisters. Holly tries to recreate movie scenes and make storylines of her own. Holly also tries to recreate some of her childhood experiences.
Influences - Holly Andres influenced my photography by using beings such as cats and dogs to make pictures. Something else that Holly Andres does that sticks out to me is how she uses household items to tell stories. Holly's inspirations were her sisters and her childhood obsessions. My work has more meaning as a result of Holly, Holly is not just a photographer, she is also an author and an illustrator.
Comparing and Contrasting -
Distraction
Insomnia
With my first picture, I wanted to recreate this because I think Holly Andres did an excellent job at telling a story about sleep deprivation. The image I took compared to the original is not exact, but it is similar. I had trouble with the lighting, especially when it came to the lighting that the phone was putting out.
Chaucer
Allie
My second picture is made to look like the cat in the original. I used my dog for this picture because I didn't want the subject to look too similar and I also don't have a cat. I found it difficult to find something to put around my dog's neck that was close enough to the original and would fit her.

Hand Me Down
My third picture is meant to tell a story just like the original photograph does. I had a lot of trouble finding enough pieces of clothing that were similar in color to the original and I also had trouble with the placement of the box. I found an orange sticker but I couldn't find any boxes with the shipping prints on the side.
Personal Artist Statement - I chose Holly Andres to recreate because her photos tell stories. She is an author within her photography and I like that I can look at her work and make up my own ideas about them. I found it difficult to recreate her photos because she uses a lot of complex lighting, angles, and original objects. I tried to make my images different from hers with the goal that the viewer can at least see a little resemblance between the efforts.
